Official launch of the Intercultural Stonemason Project 2016 in Lviv

A large crowd celebrated the official launch of the Intercultural Stonemason Project 2016 in Lviv. For the third time, German stonemasons will work side by side with their Ukrainian counterparts to restore buildings of historical importance in the old town of Lviv that have fallen into disrepair. Many questions about the German vocational training system as well as the project itself were raised during the press conference that marked the opening of the project. This project is conducted by thornconcept and is supported by GIZ, (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit). In September, the second project phase will follow. Apprentices will work together to restore the baroque terrace gardens in Kirchheimbolanden in the Palatinate region of Germany.
