Kassel and Yaroslavl have been partner cities since 1988. In 2015, the Eberhard-Schöck-Stiftung began to assist the sister cities with vocational training projects in the trades. In spring of 2015, four teachers from Jaroslawl were able to spend two weeks acquainting themselves with the German system of vocational training. Several educational institutions in Kassel participated in this seminar.
In the meantime, the Oskar-von-Miller-Schule in Kassel and the College for Urban Planning in Jaroslawl have begun to collaborate in the field of mechanical engineering for plumbing, heating and cooling technology.
