Intensive Course in German Language and Cultural Studies for German Teachers in Eastern Europe

We would like to invite German Teachers in Eastern Europe to immerse themselfes in the German language and culture from August 9-20, 2021 during our two-week seminar "DeutschLAND intensiv. Sprach- und Landeskunde für Deutschlehrkräfte aus Osteuropa". This online event consists of an intensive German language course hosted by the Goethe-Institut Schwäbisch Hall (Mon-Fri, 8:30 am - 10 am) as well as conversations with experts on linguistic, regional and cultural topics (Mon-Fri, 2 pm - 3:30 pm). We are organizing this program in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut under the patronage of Johann Saathoff, Coordinator for Inter-Societal Cooperation with Russia, Central Asia and the Eastern Partnership Countries at the Federal Foreign Office. Applications are open to German teachers at state general education schools, vocational schools and universities in the partner countries of the Eberhard Schöck Foundation (Russia, Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia) who have had little or no opportunity to visit Germany and come into contact with native speakers. Participation is free of charge, however, a stable internet connection as well as camera and microphone access are required. Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate of participation issued by the Goethe-Institut and the Eberhard Schöck Foundation. Participant selection interviews will be held in July. The application deadline is June 31, 2021. The private non-profit Eberhard Schöck Foundation, founded by building contractor Eberhard Schöck and based in Baden-Baden, Germany, has been committed to promoting international understanding with the countries of Central and Eastern Europe since 1992. By modernizing the training of building trades according to European standards, it aims to empower young people and trades in Russia, Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia.
