Door construction workshop in Chișinău

20 March, 2020:

In February and March, our expert Christoph Junghans introduced instructors and two second-year apprentices to new processes and technologies in door construction. They discussed and practiced every step of door construction from shop drawing to on-site fitting and mounting. During the two-part seminar at the vocational school Școala Profesională nr. 4, mun. in the capital city of Chișinău, they manufactured several wooden doors for installation at our project site, the vocational school Școala Profesională Hîncești in Moldova.

These workshops are an integral part of our project to modernize carpenter training in the Republic of Moldova. The workshop refurbishment and equipment modernization projects in Chișinău are making great strides. The floor of the spray room at the Școala Profesională nr. 4, mun. has been tiled and  a total of three large, stationary machines were purchased at the end of 2019. Additional machines, funded by the Eberhard-Schöck-Stiftung, are to be added over the course of the year. We are currently deliberating the installation of wooden flooring in some of the workshop rooms.

Carpentry Projects in Moldova

9 January, 2020:

Late last year, our carpentry expert Christoph Junghans visited our project locations in Moldova. In Causeni, where the project has been completed, he built a demo bed as part of the aftercare with trainers and students. In the future, beds like these will be manufactured during classes for the student dormitory.   In addition, power tools donated by Festool were handed over to the carpenters on site.  The recipients were delighted to receive them, because it was immediately clear that these tools could considerably improve work processes.  At our new location, the Vocational School No. 4 in the capital Chișinău, he supervised the delivery of the new 5-in-1 combination woodworking machine.   Christoph Junghans commissioned the machine, checked its functions and instructed the trainers in its use.  In addition to machine operation, his instructions focused strongly on occupational safety.

New Projects in the Republic of Moldova

9 October, 2019:

In the run-up to the preparation for the new training program, we have not one, but two new projects in the Republic of Moldova to present. To the west of the capital Chişinău, in the town of Hînceşt, plasterers will be trained at the vocational school using a modern concept. The necessary workshop conversions and renovations are currently being planned. For the technical project management, we were able to recruit a new expert – painter and certified restorer Markus Schulz from Dresden.   In Chişinău, the carpenter training program in a vocational school specializing in carpenter training is undergoing modernization.  Currently, we are setting up a paint shop. Christoph Junghans, who has supported us as a carpentry expert for many years, is bringing his deep expertise to bear in leading this project.
