Friendship at first sight

18 June, 2018:

Apprentices and master craftsmen from Yaroslavl, Russia, recently paid a visit to their German sister city Kassel. This year, the cities are celebrating the long-standing partnership between the College for Urban Planning in Yaroslavl and the Oskar-von-Miller School in Kassel with two exchange projects. Together, the plant installation technicians planned and installed a new restroom facility. A similar project is planned for Yaroslawl with the added component of accessibility. From the outset, the project was characterized by an atmosphere of friendship. This made it difficult to say goodbye – all the participants are now looking forward to seeing each other again in the fall.

Polish vocational school principals visit our partner school in Kiev, Ukraine

23 March, 2018:

The Higher Vocational School for Building and Design in Kiev, Ukraine, our partner in the model project to modernize painter training, is making good use of the newly equipped workshops and their new knowledge to further international collaboration. During a project-related visit by board member Peter Moeller, vocational school principals from Warsaw, Poland and the surrounding areas were also visiting the foundation’s partner school. They participated in a class on ornamental plaster techniques meant to prepare students for a Ukrainian-Polish school exchange program. The Polish visitors were deeply impressed with the school’s state-of-the-art facilities and the skills of the Ukrainian teachers, students and master craftsmen. In the future, they plan to send Polish students to Kiev for select practical courses. This will allow our partner school to generate revenue that can then be reinvested in additional training opportunities.
