Kulturpreis Deutsche Sprache (German Language Culture Awards): Recipients include grammar researchers, musicians and journalists

19 October, 2019:

In Kassel, Germany, Grammar professor Peter Eisenberg was awarded the Jacob Grimm Award for his research on the German language. The laudatio was given by the co-publisher of the renowned Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) newspaper, Jürgen Kaube. “Peter Eisenbergs work inspires us to reflect on the German language”, said Mr. Kaube, adding that Professor Eisenberg also stood for a careful handling of the German language. The Initiative Award was presented to the band Tonbandgerät for their ability to convey the joy of the German language to young people in Germany and abroad with their music and their German lyrics. Eberhard Schöck’s granddaughter Amelie Arndt delivered the laudatio. The Institutions Award went to the German-language newspaper Kaukasische Post. As the only German-language newspaper in the Caucasus region, it serves as an “asset for German foreign relations”, explained jury representative Helmut Glück. Holger Klatte, CEO of the Verein Deutsche Sprache (VDS), presented the laudatio.

Precast Concrete Parts Talent Award

12 March, 2019:

This year, five journeymen received awards presented jointly by the Eberhard-Schöck-Stiftung and the concrete industry’s vocational promotion center BFF (Berufsförderungswerk für die Beton- und Fertigteilhersteller e.V.) in Ostfildern.

Schöck award for innovation in building and construction

Congratulations! Carmen Marock (RWTH Aachen), Stefan Ehrke (TU Braunschweig) and Tim Hammer (Karlsruhe Institut for Technology KIT) are the recipients of this year’s award for their outstanding final projects and theses.

Band “Die Fantastischen Vier” receives Jacob-Grimm-Award

18 October, 2018:

This year, the renowned award goes to German-language rappers and hip-hop artists “Die Fantastischen Vier”, whose name means “The Fantastic Four” The “Fantas”, as they are also known, have been enjoying tremendous success and entertaining audiences since 1989. The campaign “Sprechen Sie lieber mit Ihrem Kind” (Why don’t you talk to your child?”) that hopes to sensitize parents to the needs of their children was recognized with the Initiative Award. Deutscher Hochschulbaupreis (German University Construction Award) 2018

19 April, 2018:

The German University Construction Award is presented every two years by the University Foundation with the Eberhard-Schöck-Stiftung providing the prize money. This year, the first prize went to Zeppelin University, a private university in Friedrichshafen, Germany. Luebeck University and Stuttgart Media University were runners-up. The Federal Office for Building and Regional Planning is the patron of this award.
